Alf Landon (1887 to 1987)
Kansas governor from 1933 to 1937, Landon ran as the Republican candidate for U.S. President in 1936, but lost to Franklin D. Roosevelt. He is the father of Nancy Landon Kassebaum, Kansas U.S. Senator from 1984 to 1990.

This is an autographed, first-day issue envelope of the Linconln Sesquicentennial series with a four-cent stamp, postmarked May 30, 1959. A phot of Landon is also included.
