Georges Rouault (1871 to 1958)
This signed postcard (no date) includes a woodcut entitled "Les Visages,"
which is signed and dated on the plate (1932).
Born in Paris, Rouault at first apprenticed to a stained glass designer. He began painting under Moreau in 1892 alongside Matisse at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. Raised a Catholic, his work often displays allegorical images of man’s struggle to hold on to his faith.

Framed with archival, UV-filtering glass.
