This unusual map mixes features from 1835 and 1860. Kansas is shown in it's 1854 territorial size that stretches to the Rocky Mountains, and is also shown in it's designation as part of the Osage District. Texas is shown as part of Mexico. Missouri is shown as it was in 1835, before the Platte Purchase. The city of Westport is shown as the westernmost outpost of the United States.
