| Artists of Note: Joan Miro
Joan Miro was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1893. He is usually identified with the Surrealist movement, although he never fully accepted the movement's creed and refused to sign the Surrealist Manifesto. By way of comparison, his whimsical geometry is more fluid than Vassily Kandinsky's graphical explorations, and the lines of his flights of fancy are more bold than the often wiry structures of Paul Klee.
