Cover: Antonio Petruccelli
Illustrator, textile designer, and pictorial map maker, Antonio Petruccelli was born September 27, 1907. In 1928, Petrucelli won first prize in the House Beautiful cover design competition, won a textile design contest sponsored by the Stehli Silk company and took second place in another contest for carpet design.
From 1932 to 1937, Petruccelli designed 35 covers for Fortune magazine. His map designs appeared in Life as well as Fortune.
