Henry Kreis
Sculptor, designer and teacher Henry Kreis was born July 27, 1899 in Essen, Germany. He studied at the State School of Applied Art in Munich , and at the Beaux-Arts Institute of Design in New York City. Kreis' many public sculptures include an award-winning sculpture in a post office in the Bronx, New York; the War Department Building; the Social Security Building and the Department of Justice Building, all in Washington D.C. He died in Essex, Connecticut in January, 1963.
