Prints:Original Fortune Magazine Covers
Henry Luce founded Fortune magazine on the eve of the Great Depression. When the inaugural issue hit the stands in February, 1930, it was a smashing success despite the fact that it sold for the then-unheard-of price of one dollar. (By comparison, Time magazine, the Luce's first publication, sold for 15 cents.)
The covers are emblematic of the era and feature some of the outstanding talent of the day, including Antonio Petrucelli, Ernest Hamlin Baker, Diego Rivera and Berenice Abbott. They were printed using the gravure process on heavy, antiqued paper.
We sell only original Fortune magazine covers, matted and gallery-wrapped in archival materials.
You can browse through one of the most comprehensive collections of original Fortune magazine covers. Choose a year from the list on the left to see all the covers for that year. Issues from other years are also available. Please contact us to inquire about a specific issue or year.
