A Wealth Of Experience
David R. Spivey has been buying, selling and appraising old maps, rare books and fine art since 1978. Over the years, Spivey's has grown to be the largest old map, print and book dealer in the Midwest.
Westport: A Historic Location
Spivey's moved to 825 Westport Road in 1990 and expanded into the neighboring building in 1994. We have five floors of maps, prints, fine art and books. Our building dates to 1910 and sits on the old Santa Fe trail in historic Westport. Founded in 1832, Westport became part of Kansas City, Missouri.
Westport was the last outfitting depot for settlers moving west to Oregon and California and for Missouri traders headed for Santa Fe from 1830-1870. Both the Oregon and Santa Fe trails passed through Westport. In fact, Westport Road is part of the actual Santa Fe Trail.
